Description Hollow the right way. The Stabilizer gives your tool extra support but still allows the control and finesse that you get by tucking the tool handle into your side and using your body to manipulate the tool. Use it as if you are hollowing by hand, but get the support of a captured type system. Its simple, easy to set up design lets you move back and forth between tools easily. This tool allows for smooth operation and the ability to enjoy the hollowing process without fighting with the tool or jig. Why choose the Stabilizer? Fits any lathe. Easy to set up – mounts directly in the lathe banjo (where your tool rest goes). Compatible with any standard 5/8″, 1/2″ or 3/8″ Tool (with bushing when necessary) PLUS the Niclot Mini Hollowers (with adapter). Interested in using larger tools, check out the 3/4″ Stabilizer. Manufactured to the highest tolerances and uses 6 thrust bearings in the articulating joints. Every component is heavy-duty, built to last and manufactured in our Fort Collins, CO shop. Has a black oxide coating that adds durability and helps prevent corrosion (especially useful when turning green wood, or if you live in a humid environment). Compact and easy to store (check out the wall mount here). What is included? The 5/8″ Stabilizer, 2 tool rest pins, 5/8″ to 1/2″ Bushing, 5/8″ to 3/8″ Bushing, Tool Post Collar, 5/32″/4mm Super Allen Wrench and 1/4″ Allen Wrench. The 5/8″ Stabilizer is not your standard hollowing system. It was designed from the ground up to make hollowing easier and more efficient. It is the most versatile hollowing system available, there is nothing else available that even compares. Be sure to also check out our full line of hollowing tools, Laser Bars and our Visualizer the Original Camera Hollowing System. Additional Info on Lathe Compatibility Your Stabilizer will be built specifically for your lathe. The 5/8″ Stabilizer will fit on any lathe. Post diameter is 1″ – if you have a different post diameter (i.e. 30mm, 1 1/8, 40mm, etc.) you can get a bushing here. If you have a midi/midi lathe with a 5/8″ post, check out the Mini/Midi 5/8″ Stabilizer here. NOTE: We only list the most common lathe types, if yours is not listed, just choose “Other (specify during checkout)” and add your lathe type to the notes section when checking out (or send us an email).
